Rain Pay works with most modern vending machines. Any machine that supports MDB cashless, the standard interface for the last couple of decades, takes the reader.
The reader adds tap, chip, and swipe over the MDB bus through the DejaUP interface, alongside the coin and bill acceptors you already have.
A machine that does not support MDB cashless cannot take the reader, and there is no retrofit.

- Is my machine compatible?
- Almost certainly. Most vending machines built in the last couple of decades support MDB cashless, and the reader connects through the DejaUP MDB interface alongside the coin and bill acceptors already installed. The only machines it cannot serve are ones that do not support MDB cashless, which have no retrofit.
- What is included in the price?
- The reader, a SIM for cellular connectivity, Rain Pay card processing, and DrylineVMS Core for that machine at $14.95 per month, added to the order automatically. There is no activation fee and no contract; processing is flat and quoted with your order.
- Does the machine need Wi-Fi?
- No. The reader connects over Wi-Fi or cellular, and a SIM is included, so it works at sites with no network of their own.
- How does ordering work?
- Pick a quantity and buy by card. The reader ships registered to your account, so it reports to your machine the moment it comes online; connect it to the machine’s MDB bus and card vends and DEX reads start flowing into Dryline.
- Can I add DrylineVMS Pro?
